The Illinois Mayflower Society is deeply saddened by the passing of three individuals
who were most special to our organization.
Cornelia McNurlen O’Kieffe, a past Governor of our Society, passed away on April 3,
2011. Connie served as our Governor from 1995-1998. We all remember Connie as an
excellent officer who gave so much to our Society. Connie and Charles served as hostess and host for our State luncheons on many occasions. We will certainly miss Connie’s friendship, capability and service.
Elizabeth Pearson White , FASG, FNGS, CG passed from this life on January 3, 2011.
She served our Society for many years. Betty was a member of the group of genealogists
at the Winnetka Public Library. Mrs. White contributed so much research for the General
Society of Mayflower Descendants in Plymouth. The Howland research and other
contributions shared by Betty constitute a wealth of knowledge for all of us. She will
certainly be missed by our State Society, the General Society and many at the Winnetka
Public Library.
Jean Marilyn Larson Damisch of Northbrook, passed away on March 23, 2011. Jean, wife of past Governor Richard Damisch was long a friendly and supportive guest at events of our State Society. Jean was well-known for her many accomplishments
and awards in her professional endeavors. We will miss Jean at events held by our
Society.
We also mourn the loss of each and every one of our individual members.
